Bantayan Island is located at the northern part of Cebu, Philippines. See the geography below.

Since Cebu is a popular place in the Philippines, you can then start your trip from there by riding a bus in the North Bus Terminal. The bus will travel from Cebu to Hagnaya. Bus travel time may vary from 3 hours to 4 hours. In our case, bus departs at 7:30am and arrived in Hagnaya at around 11am.

It’s a pretty long ride. See the red line on the map showing the bus route from Cebu to Hagnaya.

But the long trip is met by different beautiful views as the bus travels in different locations. It’s a fun travel along a beautiful scenery.

Now those scenery are not yet from Bantayan Island. Those are just the views you can see while traveling the bus.

Once the bus arrive in Hagnaya, you will then buy ticket for the boat trip towards Bantayan Island.

The boat will then dock at the Bantayan Port.

You’ve just arrive at the Bantayan Island.

When I first arrive, what really really really impressed me is how clear the water is. Remember I am still at the dock. I’m still at the boat. But looking at the clear waters really wants you to jump and go swimming.

The photo below shows the comparison of the waters of the docking stations.

I must admit that the clear waters of the Bantayan Island port really impresses me. The boat port itself is already like a resort! That’s how clear the water is.

WELCOME!

Welcome to Santa Fe

Welcome to Santa Fe

At the port, you will be greeted by this huge sign. Santa Fe is a part of Bantayan Island.

From here on, there are several beach resort to choose from. Some popular resorts that I’ve heard are the Sugar Beach and Kota beach. There are also non-official resorts, those beach that are just along the way with no official name but as worthy and as beautiful as the other beach.

Prices may vary on different resorts. Rooms have a price of 1,500 pesos to 3,000 pesos per night. This may double on peak season like on the month of April.

Here’s a view from Kota beach as an example.

The trip didn’t end there.

Along side Kota beach lies pump boats for you to ride towards VIRGIN ISLAND!

It’s a pretty small boat with the sea just a few inches from you. While riding, you can feel the breeze and the waves of the sea. Sometimes the waves got strong that your boat will be rocking hard. Sweet smell of adventure.

After a forty-five minutes ride, you will now reach Virgin Island.

The place is so impressive. The moment you set foot on the island, your feet will be tickled by the very fine sand of the beach. It is a natural fine white sand that welcomes you. The water’s so clean you can see small fish as you swim.

Nature’s wonders never fail to amuse you. Try visiting on this place if you want to relax or if you want adventure. Try feeling how wonderful this experience is. This is truly a relaxing experience.
