This is the first time I do a panoramic sketch.
I made a few walks, trying to find a good view to sketch.
And not for long, I found a suitable place in Ayala, Cebu. This is where I will sketch.
I sit near the entrance hall in Ayala. This is also the place where people lined up for a cab/taxi.
Fortunately, no one’s lining at that time so I have no distractions on the people looking at what I’m doing.
Anyway, here’s my sketch.
My panoramic sketch can be downloaded in full resolution (2297 × 658 pixels 300 dpi) in this link.
The rightmost building is Lexmark building. This is where I work.
There are two Lexmark buildings actually. The tall one is Lexmark Plaza 1. While the shorter building below it is Lexmark Plaza 2.
Lexmark Plaza 3 cannot be seen from where I sit. It is in the back of Plaza 1 base on my drawing.
A bit to the left from Lexmark is the Innove building.
Around the the year 2004-ish, Lexmark is actually occupying in Innove. The Lexmark buildings didn’t exist yet at that time.
The lot that Lexmark Plaza 1 is occupying right now is actually a beautiful parking space covered with lots of trees. And I can still remember two elderly couple doing their early morning jog on that area.
Innove building got a canteen on 14th floor. Not sure if it’s true today. But during that time, when I ate snacks, I ate it like it’s a meal — rice, tuna, etc.
By the time Lexmark got it’s own building, all the Lexmark occupants in Innove are transferred to the new building. And majority of Innove floors got empty.
A few days after the transfer, I actually went back to Innove.
I told the guard that I just want to eat my lunch in my previous place.
I actually ate my lunch there. The area is in chaos. Papers scattered everywhere. There’s no more cubicle walls. I can see straight from the door to the window. Unlike before where it was hindered by the cubicles.
A few cabinets are left behind. Some are toppled over.
I sat on it and ate my lunch, creating less movement so that the dust won’t fly to my meal. I stayed there for around 1 hour, enjoying the silence and the memories.
The Keppel building also got a Lexmark occupants before. But only a few of the population.
Keppel has a lot of occupants from other companies, making it one of the business hub in the area.
Marriott is one of the known hotel here in Cebu.
When Lexmark got a visitor from outside the country (i.e. from Lexington), chances are, they will be staying in Marriott. It’s advantageous because it is just a walking distance away from Lexmark.
And lastly the AppleOne Tower (far left on my drawing).
They are now a growing business hub as more companies are renting to their building.
The wonderful thing about Cebu Business Park is it’s nature-themed place. Trees and plants can still be seen in the area. This contributes advantageously to the well being of the people working in the area because it can relieve stress. It gives a refreshing feeling. It can also help suck up air pollution emitted by the vehicles.
