Urbansketchers Cebu held a sketchwalk last October 21st at the Redemptorist Church.
At around 9:30am, I arrive at the place and found two urbansketchers inside KFC.
They already started sketching.
I ate my breakfast and then went out from KFC.
Roam around the perimeter of Redemptorist Church, looking for a good angle.
I found a good angle, but not a good place to sketch because I have nothing to sit on and it’s too hot. Got a sunny weather today.
I roam around a bit. And then eventually decided to shed on the little guardhouse.
I’m not inside the guardhouse though. I’m outside, leaning on the walls, taking shade on the little roof it has.
With no place to sit, I started sketching. Just standing.
It’s no easy task. My bag at my bag, cushioning as I lean on the guardhouse wall. And then holding my sketchbook on my left hand while my right hand sketches.
And then from time to time, I turn to my bag to get a few stuffs and then back to sketching again.
The heat of the sun, plus the standing position, plus the strain in your left hand, all of these drained your energy.
I have to sketch fast.
By the time I finish sketching, I quickly put on the base color and then hurriedly went back to KFC to finish the rest of the color.
This is the result of a standing-tiresome-gymnastic sketch.
Other sketchers were already sketching inside KFC.
The sketchwalk ended with a free cake by one of the admins of Urbansketchers Cebu.
There was however an afternoon session. Other sketchers came in on the afternoon. But I went home during that time.
Looking forward for the next sketchwalk next month.
