I’m visiting my hometown.
At the heart of this hometown is the Sto.Niño chapel.
I love Sto.Niño, and I love this chapel.
Lots of fond memories of this place.
During the 6th day of novena, I sketch this at the back of the chapel.
It’s around 7 pm when I started sketching this.
Novena prayers are spoken, waiting for the priest to arrive.
And here I am sketching the place.
I started pulling off an extra ordinary paper, and a thick pen (0.7) from my bag.
Started sketching the view from my location — from where I am seated.
It’s a quick sketch. Aiming for a loose sketch this time — doesn’t care about accuracy.
Just sketching the general form, the general look and feel of the place.
I don’t even plan on coloring it.
It’s a rough 20-30 minutes sketch. After that it’s done.
It’s a personal taste, but I like the output. And so I decided to color it.
Most of the people from my hometown are devotees of Sto.Niño.
This 9-days novena are the perfect time to pray, thanking Him, and asking for something.
Before closing this article, I would cite a verse of the song from the Gozos:
Kay sa tanang kinahanglan, ikaw ang among dalangpan.
