Today I am joining Hackathon here in our company.
This is my 2nd time joining. The first one was…when was it? 5 years ago? Somewhere on that time frame.
Hackathon is basically creating idea or innovation and then implement it, code it, create it.
Hackathon is time bound. Meaning the whole activity will only last a few days.
In our case, it’s around 3 days — half day for pitching of ideas, 2 days implementation, and half day show off.
This is my sketch during the pitching of ideas.
It seems the Hackathon activity evolves through the years as I observed.
The first time I joined (and also the first Hackathon in the company) involves only a few people.
And we just went there and do our thing.
But this time, we have pitching of ideas, and invite those people interested to implement your ideas.
Before, we don’t do that. And I think it is good that we have this formatted-kind of activity.
Also, we got lots of ideas this time and lots of participants.
Or maybe this is the effect of not attending Hackathon for too long. 🙂
I’m excited to start the implementation tomorrow as this entails something new apart from our usual work routine.
What are we gonna build? That’s a secret.
