I have so many sketches that I have yet to blog.
My blog to-dos are now piling up.
In fact, this sketch is from two months ago.
It seems like my production of sketches is much faster than my blog.
And in order for my blog to catch up, I have to start blogging them right now — starting with this article.
Okay here’s my sketch of Tapsilogan in Mabolo, Cebu, Philippines.
From what I know, the term Tapsilog derives from the combination of Tapa and Itlog (egg).
But what about the ‘s’?
Nah, I don’t want to go to that details. It could mean sexy or something.
Whatever. I’ll just refer you to wiki for more info.
I usually eat here during lunch time but seldom have the opportunity to sketch it.
I was able to bring a paper and watercolor and was able to sketch the place as a form of recording or as a visual diary.
More than 10 years ago, I started eating here. And…imagine this: I ate tuna with 3 cups of rice. Sometimes I did that on snack time (3pm).
There is no wall on the right. That makes a decent air flow of the area, making it feel cooler.
The ceiling fan gives additional air ventilation.
This is situated beside the road, so expect a few decibels of sound noise from the jeepneys and other vehicles.
But the noise isn’t that disturbing. You can still have your meal at peace.
There is also an air-conditioned room on my left (not seen from my drawing) for those who prefer air-condition.
But 10 years ago, there’s no air-conditioned room. It was just recent that they upgraded the place.
This store offers Filipino foods and a few canned goods and instant noodles.
Workers from nearby companies went here to eat, like for example, employees from PLDT which is situated across the street on the right side.
